In response to the severe drought that is currently being experienced in the Horn Africa, AMREF in France has raised nearly 400,000 Euros to meet the immediate needs of the affected communities in the areas where we work.
AMREF in France has received the support of private donors Sanofi Espoir Foundation and Total Foundation as follows:
Sanofi Espoir Foundation has given its support for the urgent implementation plan in Makueni, in the East of Nairobi to improve the nutrition of 19,440 children and 25,920 women and to give access to medical care and safe water for the communities.
Total Foundation has given 500,000 dollars for urgent measures in Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan. With this donation, 150,000 persons are going to be helped by AMREF and its programmes to fight famine and drought.
