AMREF is looking for an individual who is organized, highly-motivated and results-oriented to join a dynamic team and help bring lasting health change in Africa, to fill the following positions in the Strengthening HIV Strategic Information in Kenya (ADAM) Project funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project’s purpose is to develop and support implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) strategies and tools to track programmatic activities and develop reports for decision making and project improvement. The project is implemented by AMREF in collaboration with DANYA international, AfriAfya and ICF International.
Purpose of the Job
To support efficient coordination and administration of capacity building activities to ensure delivery of outputs in SSI ADAM project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:-
- Assist in co-coordinating and participating in planning of training activities.
- Participate in the actual training of the health care workers
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the project.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation of training activities.
- Support preparation and packaging of training materials
- Assist in preparing capacity building reports.
- Assist in documentation of all project activities.
- Participate in organizing and conducting field visits and meetings with relevant stakeholders. This entails booking venues, arranging for transport and accommodation and ensuring that the relevant documents are circulated on time.
- Assist in control and account for the use of project resources and assets including financial transactions.
- Maintain an up-to-date project training database.
- Ensure safety and security of project resources including laptops and LCDs.
- Work closely with the other staff in organizing and conducting trainees’ mentorship program.
- Assist in data collection, cleaning, analysis and interpretation including report writing.
Qualifications and Competencies
The ideal candidate should have a first degree in Social Sciences or related field. A post-graduate degree in Social Sciences will be an added advantage At least four (4) years work experience in a busy NGO. The person must be experienced in capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, project management and in designing and conducting community based trainings.
Excellent ICT skills, including statistical packages such as SPSS, STATA and EPI Info are essential to this position. In addition, the candidate must have strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and supervisory skills. Remarkable interpersonal, administrative, communication and networking skills are essential. Furthermore, s/he must be a team player, is honest, able to maintain confidentiality, is of impeccable integrity and able to work with minimal supervision.
