Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant - GF TB Project

Purpose of the job

Assist in providing M&E technical expertise to the project by ensuring effective coordination,

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Participate in strengthening existing M&E systems in the project and AMREF Kenya Country Office.
  •  Assist in data capturing, reporting and QA/QC using monitoring tools to track project indicators.
  • Ensure SRs data quality management through execution of regular data quality audits and onsite verification exercises.  
  • Upload and analyze SRs reports on the Grants Management Information System (GMIS) to ensure timely production of relevant reports.
  • Develop and maintain databases back up and filing systems for sub recipients.
  • Participate in field assessments and surveys, on site mentorship, supportive supervision and M&E capacity building of SRs to ensure full compliance with the grants requirements.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual programmatic performance reports.
  • Participate in operations research and documentation of success stories, lessons and experiences.


Qualifications and Competencies

The ideal candidate should have a first degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Health or its equivalent.  Professional training in M&E and at least three (3) years of relevant work experience.  Must have hands on experience in statistical analysis packages - STATA; SPSS, Epi info. Excellent quantitative and qualitative methodologies.  Should have experience in data management within a community health programs preferably in the TB and HIV/AIDS field.  In addition the ideal candidate should have strong coordination, problem solving and networking skills.  Must be honest, a team player, a good communicator and able to work under minimal supervision.
