Sharing

Sharing what we have learnt from our projects has made it possible for other organisations to replicate what we have done and learnt across the African continent and world wide.
Our health education materials have been used across the globe. We have seen our advice on health policy taken up at community, district, and government levels.

How We Do It

To achieve its mission, AMREF has identified three core strategies. These are: capacity building, operations research and advocacy. AMREF carries out innovative programmes and learning from our experiences. We use this evidence-based research to share and advocate winning health and poverty relief approaches that are appropriate, relevant, affordable and effective.

We are commited to Learning

All AMREF projects have a learning objective, and AMREF has a commitment to share that learning with others, within and without the organisation.

Learning from the community

In almost every case where we have intervened to solve community health problems we learnt that the community itself had the answer to many of its own problems.

Testing,Teaching and Telling

AMREF is commited to evidence-based, bottom-up programming, documenting and sharing experiences, lessons learnt and best practices.
