AMREF Training - DCH

AMREF has been training health and health-related professionals through-out Africa for over 40 years. AMREF aims to provide relevant, accessible and cost-effective training of the highest quality that equips these professionals with skills suited to today’s health care systems that addresses professional challenges facing those working in the health sector across Africa.

The Diploma in Community Health (DCH) course is a one year full time and one and half year through E-learning that is accredited to Moi University. It seeks to empower health and health related professionals to become change agents in Africa. Since 1987, students from all over Africa and beyond have participated in this course.

Learning resources include:

  1. Computer laboratory with internet access
  2. A well-equipped clinical laboratory where trainees carry out practical examinations
  3. A state-of-the-art health library which provides access to information that is otherwise unavailable locally.

Admission Requirements

  1. Minimum education background of a certificate or diploma in a health or health related areas. Examples of those eligible are: Registered nurses, Public Health officers, Medical Social workers, Nutritionists, etc.
  2. At least three (3) years relevant working experience;
  3. Competence in both written and spoken English
  4. Preferably below 45 years of age

  • Non refundable application fee of USD $20 (Kshs. 1,500)

Full time option - tuition fees – US$ 7, 400 (Seven thousand four hundred dollars)

E-learning option - tuition fees - US$ 2,400 (Two thousand four hundred dollars
