
The Diploma in Community Health course was started in 1987 in conjunction with McMaster University, and is currently validated by the Kenyan Commission for Higher Education and accredited to Moi University. The course offers relevant, practical skills and competences that enable graduates to plan and manage health and development. Since its inception, 508 students have graduated from 35 African countries and Europe. The course is offered in two options: one year full time and 15 months via eLearning

Learning resources include:
- Computer laboratory with internet access
- A well-equipped clinical laboratory where trainees carry out practical examinations
- A state-of-the-art health library which provides access to information that is otherwise unavailable locally.
Admission Requirements
- Minimum education background of a certificate or diploma in health or health related area. Examples of those eligible are: registered nurses, public health officers, medical social workers, nutritionists, etc.
- At least three (3) years relevant working experience
- Competence in both written and spoken English
