Changing the Face of Health among Nomadic CommunitiesAMREF is an accountable and transparent organisation. Our annual budget has grown from $12,000 in 1957 to over $70m in 2008.

We have decentralised our operations which in turn minimises our running costs. We spend an average of just 17% on administration- the remainder is directly spent on our community projects. All AMREF budgets are projected, planned and accounted for in a transparent and accountable manner.

Generous donations from governments, foundations, trusts, corporate companies and individuals have helped to raise AMREF's income to over $ 70 million. This financial base is the cornerstone on which we base our innovative projects and long term planning. Through the growing support of all our donors we meet our commitment to support African health. To everyone who has helped us achieve this we offer sincere thanks.
