Medical Escort

To provide English speaking doctors or nurse trained and experienced in emergency medicine to accompany the patient/s on a commercial airline. This includes:
• Organising medical approval from the airline
• Meeting and assistance at the airport
• Organising wheel chair at the airport (if required)
• Providing assistance with transport or other logistics should the medical escort team arrive from another country
• To inform the hospital/doctor/patient/family of the arrangements. (Worldwide service)

Our Services

Local Medical Transport

To arrange a road ambulance to bring the patient from the airport to the hospital or from the hospital to the airport. To arrange for a taxi to bring the patient from a hotel or private address to the airport or from the airport to a hotel or private residence

AMREF Flying Doctor Service has its own fleet of ground ambulances available in Nairobi

Medical Dispatch
To arrange medicines or substitute medicines for a patient. Medicine will be collected and delivered by AMREF Flying Doctor Service, including issuing of prescription before-hand if required. (Ideally, this service is only available in Nairobi. However, AMREF will try and assist also in other locations on a case to case assessment)

Medical advice

To provide advice 24 hours by telephone, radio, fax, or email.
